What type of dance is your dancer passionate about? What areas of movement would your dancer like to learn or improve upon? At Dance Central, we offer students many options when it comes to styles of dance. From classical ballet to contemporary lyrical classes, dancers can find what type of dance is right for them. Class placement is determined by age, experience and ability level. For questions regarding class curriculum or class placement for your child, please contact the studio.
Ages 2.5 - 3.5 Years

Ballet
Participants must be at least 7 or going into 2nd grade. Tap
Participants must be at least 7 or going into 2nd grade. Jazz
Participants must be at least 7 or going into 2nd grade. Hip Hop
Participants must be at least 8 years old or in 2nd grade. Lyrical
Participants must be at least 9 years old or 3rd grade - must be currently enrolled in ballet and jazz. Minimum of 2 years of ballet and jazz training. Drill Team Prep
Participants must be in at least 6th grade. Leaps & Turns
For students in 6th grade and up. Must be at least an Intermediate-level dancer to participate. Classes are not conducive to an elementary school student's schedule, as they may be held during school or later at night. Strengthening and Conditioning
For 6th grade and up. Must be at least an Intermediate-level dancer to participate. Classes are not conducive to an elementary school student's schedule, as they may be held during school or later at night. Pre-Pointe
Eligibility to participate will be discussed with the Director. Pointe
Pointe class is by invitation only. Musical Theatre
Class is open to students who are at least 8 years old or in the 2nd grade.
Most Dance Central LLC Company members compete in both tap and jazz, and take these classes in addition to their regular classes during the week. Additional Company classes may include hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, musical theater and ballet. Company team members are required to participate in weekly technique classes including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, yoga, cardio and more. All classes Hair must be secured neatly away from the face. Jewelry is not allowed in class. Watches and stud earrings are acceptable. Students not dressed appropriately will not be allowed to participate in class. The student will not be allowed to make-up the class and tuition will not be adjusted. Hats are not allowed.
Ballet Ladies - Mandatory: Black leotard, pink tights, pink leather split-sole ballet shoes with one piece of elastic across the instep. Students must wear tights in ballet. If dancer arrives to ballet with bare legs, a new pair of tights will be provided, and their account will be charged. Optional: Dance appropriate shorts or ballet skirts allowed at teacher’s discretion. A bun is always recommended. Gentlemen: White t-shirt, black tights or black pants, black ballet shoes
Jazz/Drill Team Ladies - Mandatory: Any solid color leotard, tights, and split-sole, slip-on jazz shoes. Optional: Form fitting tank tops, jazz/capri leggings, or dance appropriate shorts. Advance/Performing Company may be requested to dance without tights; appropriate dance shorts or dance pants required. Gentlemen: Fitted t-shirt, dance pants, and black, spilt-sole, slip-on jazz shoes.
Tap Ladies - Same attire as jazz. Intermediate/Advanced classes: black oxford, hard-sole, tap shoes *(they must tie and metal tap should be secured with a screw). Advance/Performing Company may need to purchase high-heel tap shoes. Pants must be short enough that the instructor can see your ankles. Gentlemen: Fitted t-shirt, dance pants, and black oxford, hard-sole, tap shoes.
Hip Hop Ladies - Mandatory: Any solid color leotard and tights. Either jazz shoes, jazz sneakers, or tennis shoes. Optional: Form fitting tank tops, Capri or full-length jazz pants. Gentlemen: Fitted t-shirt, dance pants. Either jazz shoes, jazz sneakers, or tennis shoes.
Lyrical/Contemporary Ladies - Mandatory: Any solid color leotard, appropriate dance shorts or capri/full length leggings. Either dance paws, jazz shoes, or barefoot. Advance/Performing Company may be requested to dance without tights; appropriate dance shorts or dance pants required. Optional: Form fitting tank top, tights, dance skirt Gentlemen: Fitted t-shirt, dance pants. Either barefoot or black jazz shoes.
Musical Theatre Ladies - Mandatory: Any solid color leotard and capri/full-length leggings. Jazz shoes. Optional: Form fitting tank top Gentlemen: Fitted t-shirt, dance pants. Jazz shoes.
Ballet/Tap Combination Class Ladies - Mandatory: Black or pink leotard. Pink tights. Pink leather ballet shoes. Black Mary Jane tap shoes (replace the ribbon with tap ties or black elastic) Optional: Ballet skirt. Gentlemen: White t-shirt, black tights or black pants, black ballet shoes and black oxford tap shoes.
Ballet/Tap/Jazz Combination Class Ladies - Mandatory: Solid color leotard. Pink tights. Pink leather ballet shoes. Black oxford tap shoes. Black split sole slip-on jazz shoes. Optional: Ballet skirt, Capri or full-length jazz pants. Gentlemen: White t-shirt, black tights or black pants, black ballet shoes, black oxford tap shoes, black split sole slip-on jazz shoes.
